Bouldering!

Got out last night soloing at Burbage North, idyllic conditions. Also today up to Burbage South, a bit more cloudy and windy, but bearable. Managed to do a good chunk of the Panzer traverse for the first time.

Biking and climbing...is it spring?

Went down to Bakewell and did a route from the Vetebrate Graphics white peak guide.  Up over a hill to the Monsal trail, then a bigger climb over to Chatsworth, and back.  Good views to the Derwent valley from the high point.  Quick evening session at the Plantation with Jon afterwards.

Stroll from Bradwell

Took the long route to the Co-op today(!) via a six mile circuit to Hope, across to Brough, then back over Rebellion Knoll. A bit grey, but mild.

After work climbing

First chance to get out bouldering after work yesterday, albeit with a cheeky early finish at work. Were treated to some great light courtesy of the low sun, and had the Burbage boulders to ourselves.

Back from a weekend in the Lakes

Spent the weekend up in Lakes.  Did a route on poor snow at Tarn Crag, Grizedale on Saturday, then ascended Dollywagon Pike and returned down The Tongue Ridge and Gully,  finding some better conditions in the north facing cove.  On Sunday, Brown Cove Crags  seemed unaffected by the thaw, and Left Branch Gully (II) was good fun, with a very short section of ice.  Continued up to Hellvelyn, and were treated to some  views on the descent. Cornices around the summit rim were impressive, in particular those below Helvellyn Lower Man.  Ice on paths near the summit was thawing, and the snow was ideal for controlled glissading on the way down.

Winter climbing in the Peak District

During the cold weather last weekend, managed to sample some of the esoteric winter climbs on the Mam Tor ridge.
